Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Hive Home, a family management application operated by Hive Home ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

Hive Home is a mobile application that helps families manage tasks, chores, daily routines, and shared calendars. The app allows households to create accounts, add family members, and coordinate household activities together.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. Children's accounts within a household must be set up by a parent or adult administrator — children do not independently create accounts.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Ensuring the information you provide is accurate and current
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

One person may not maintain more than one account. Accounts are not transferable.

4. Household Data

When you create a household, you are the administrator of that household's data. You are responsible for the content you and your household members add to the app, including tasks, notes, and calendar events. You must not use Hive Home to store or share content that is illegal, harmful, or violates anyone's rights.

5. Third-Party Integrations

Hive Home offers optional integration with Google Calendar. By connecting a third-party service, you authorize us to access that service on your behalf according to the permissions you grant. You can disconnect any integration at any time. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the app or its infrastructure
• Use the app to transmit spam, malware, or harmful content
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app

7. Intellectual Property

Hive Home and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the content you create within the app (your tasks, notes, events, etc.). By using the app, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the service to you.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

Hive Home may offer free and paid tiers. If you subscribe to a paid plan, you agree to the pricing and billing terms presented at the time of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. Refunds are handled in accordance with the policies of the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play).

9. Termination

You may stop using Hive Home and delete your account at any time from within the app settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in harmful behavior, or if we are required to do so by law. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Hive Home is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components. Your use of the app is at your sole risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hive Home and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if unresolved, through binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction.
